Our Second Year Competing in the Weybridge Regatta
After last year’s success at Weybridge Community Regatta, we returned in an attempt to try and win the trophy for the second time. We weren’t quite ready to let the glistening trophy leave our office just yet, as we enjoyed the constant reminder of our hard work and champion status! This year, we were supporting Myeloma UK, a charity that everyone at March Recruitment holds close to their hearts.
After last year’s win, we knew we could be successful at offering recruitment in Weybridge and also as a team of rowers. We thought we were in with a chance of winning again this year when we won our time trials! Unfortunately, our hopes of defending our 2017 title fell short when we didn’t win our race. Still, we took the opportunity to raise money for our wonderful chosen charity. Myeloma UK is a charity we all care about here at March Recruitment, after one of our team members was given a diagnosis in 2016. Despite not many people having heard of this condition, it’s not overly uncommon, with around 17,500 people affected by Myeloma in the UK.
Thank you to everyone who has donated and to those who joined us at the Regatta this August and cheered us on in the sun. After enjoying another year competing in the Weybridge Regatta, we are even more pleased that this opportunity allowed us to raise enough money to reach our target!
Thanks to all the fantastic support, we beat our target of £500 and ultimately raised £1,470. But it’s still not too late to give to this fantastic cause – if you’d like to contribute to finding a cure, you can visit the Myeloma UK website and donate here. Thank you to everyone who has donated and to those who joined us at the Regatta this August – we loved seeing you all cheering us on in the sun.
